One of the most used forms of alternative health is to go to a chiropractor for back pain.
Our spine or backbone is a very important part in our body. It is very strong and still flexible.
It hold up our head and our torso and still is flexible enough to let us bend and move in all directions.
It is made of 26 bones called vertebrate’s They allow us to stand and bend. The vertebrae can be easily damaged and change the spine’s structure a few of them are:
Function of the Spine
Beside keeping us up and supporting our head and keeping us flexible there is an other very important role that the spine has.
It surrounds our spinal cord. The spinal cord is the most important connection between our brain and the rest of our body and yet most of us do not take care of it very well.
You can look at it as if it is the electric wiring in you body. It makes you brain communicate with all the thousands of parts in your body. There are a lot of things that can go wrong in this process.
- Bone changes
The spine is made of 33 vertebra’s, 24 are single bones or vertebrae, and at the bottom of our spine are the remaining bones.
What are our spinal nerves?
We have 31 spinal nerves that are connected to a specific part of our body.
8 Servical, 23 Thoraric, 5 Lumbar, 5 Sacral and 1 Coccygeal.
The Lumbar is the one we know most, because it causes the most back problems.
That the other spinal nerves do not give us to much problems does not mean that we can just ignore them.
If the spinal cord is used to connect our brain to every part of our body and the spine is protecting it and to take it a step further.
If in between the vertebrae the spinal nerve leaves the spine to connect to the body does it not makes sense to keep this part of our body in an optimum shape?
