I am not claiming that I am old but I am getting a tad older. Not that I have anything to complain about.
I have, however, many older relatives that are getting up there in age. My family is blessed with many people who live a long life and I pray I am one of them.
One of the problems some of them have is getting dressed to get ready to tackle the day.
Especially one of my aunts was having trouble with this. One of the reasons was that she loves her button-up shirts and dresses. However, getting all these buttons done was getting hard for here.
For me, that was a good reason to look around for a solution. Unfortunately in my normal way of finding solutions I did not find anything that would help here.
That was until I found a website that was tailored to senior citizens and offered advice for many problems you have to overcome when you are getting older.
That is where I found a thing called a button hook and that was the solution I thought would help her.
As you can see this is not just to get the button in but also to get it out. I had never heard of a button hook, but I found out that they have been around since the time of Queen Victoria.
The one you see on the video is mainly for buttons but I have seen other ones that had a little hook on the other side to help you with zippers.
That would the one I need probably since my hand is getting a little weaker.
I know there are a lot more problems to overcome when you are getting up there in age but I also see that there are many simple solutions for these problems.
I am thinking of probably publishing more content here about these little helpful items. The reason is that I know that some of the readers here might benefit from that information.
