According to recent research the food allergies has tripled in the last 10 years. To use a percentage, we are talking about a 377 percent spike. The report also show that over 45% of the people develop a type of food allergy. What was a surprise is that an allergy for seafood in many cases do not appear after younger people turn 17.
The findings in this report that surveyed over 53000 American adults over a period of a year was that one of the most common allergies from high to low are:

  • Shellfish – 3.69%
  • Peanuts – 2.66%
  • Tree nuts – 1.8%
  • Sesame – 0.3%

Food allergen were most of the time seen as a condition that begins in the childhood time, so it is surprising that this study shows that about 45% of the adults develop a food allergy.

The center for disease control and prevention (CDC) said that 90 percent of allergies come from the following foods.This list is in random order.

  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Peanuts
  • Fish
  • Tree nuts
  • Soy
  • Shellfish
  • Wheat

Food allergies in children are 4 times likely to also suffer from other conditions like asthma.

Possible symptoms of a food allergy

Many allergic reactions can be mild and in general reactions are only severe in rare cases. Reactions can be like

  • Itching or swelling in the mouth
  • Cramps and pain in the abdomen
  • Rashes or eczema
  • Trouble with breathing
  • Blood pressure problems

A holistic and natural approach of food allergies look at it as an imbalance that can be corrected by detoxing and changes in diet and lifestyle. Although there is no cure for a food allergy there are things you can to to reduce the symptoms with some natural foods and changes in your diet.
