brainwaveBefore we can start to talk about the different types of brainwave entertainment we have to define the meaning of entrainment first.
In Google I found this.

What is the definition of entrainment

The synchronization of organism to an external rhythm.

The most used forms of brain wave entrainment are:
Isochronic tones and Binaural beats. They both have their own definition also.

What are Isochronic tones

They are regular beats of a single tone that are used along monaural beats and binaural beats in the brainwave entrainment process. Simply explained it is a tone that is turned on and off rapidly and creates a distinctive pulse of sounds.

What are binaural beats

They are also part of the brainwave entrainment technology and are designed to put your brain in a state of mind compared to when you meditate in a more traditional way. They are two tones with a different frequencies, but within 40 Hz of each other, and lower then 1500 Hz. Each of them in one of your ears.

How to use isochronic tones and binaural beats

The main difference is that you have to use headphones for binaural beats and you can use isochronic tones with basically any sound device like cd player, regular sound system and even your computer speakers or your phone.

I have found a video on what brainwave entrainment is. It is a little strange but give a good explanation,
