  • Detachable legs
  • Organic cotton bag for transportation

Available in dark brown and natural wood this IKUKo meditation bench received 91% 4 and 5 stars on many sites we found information on this IKUKO bench.
My guess, after reading a lot of comments, is that if you are under 5’8″ this might be a little to high for you. This is maybe what can be considered a tall meditation bench.

The most praised were the quality and the overall design. the curved seat and the angle of it in combination with the used materials made it possible for many people to use it for over an hour with no problem.

This bench is tilted and the difference in height between front and back is 1 inch. The seat is 8 x 18 inch and that is about the standard size.
The total height is 9 inch at the highest and 8 inch at the lower point.
The folding option of this bench makes it a nice portable meditation bench for taking it with you.

  • Height between 9 and 8 inches
  • Sitting surface 8 x 18 inches
  • 6 colors
  • Hinged legs

Most of the time I am a little concerned about hinged legs but for this meditation bench I have not found many complaints about them.
Seen some remarks that it is not too good for tall people but other ones mentioned no problems with it.

Ronin meditation bench review

This bench is portable, folding and made of Walnut wood. Hand finished with a natural lavender beeswax coating.

  • Height between 6-5/16 and 6-13/16 inches.
  • Seat size is 12 inch wide and 4-1/4 inch deep
  • Magnets to keep the legs in place
  • Easy to travel with

The Ronin meditation bench is probably the most known bench and this is reflected in the average reviews we found for this bench. It is however not the bench for everyone. The seat is fairly hard to sit on and it is definitely something to get used on for longer mediation sessions. The quality is mentioned many times as being a piece of great craftsmanship and the finish with the lavender and beeswax smells great.
This is a true Zen meditation bench and looks great in your house even as just a piece of furniture.
Read some remarks about the hinges opening a little easy, but that was just a small complaint.

Economy meditation bench with fixed legs

This is a very simple but for many people affordable meditation bench. The legs are fixed so that makes it not easy to take with you. The used wood is Poplar and it is finished with a clear coating. Like most meditation benches this one is also slightly slended.

  • seat is 18 x 7 inches
  • Highest point is 7.5 inches
  • Lowest pint is 6.5 inches
  • Poplar wood
  • Very sturdy

This is a very simple but effective meditation bench. Not portable so if you need to travel with your bench this is not the one. Some people mentioned that they were not sure if they would use a bench a lot and went for this economy version and say they are very happy with it and will not spend money on a more expensive bench. My opinion is that you do not know what the difference is until you tried one. But if this works its great.

How to choose a meditation bench

After reading all our meditation bench review you might still not know how to pick the right one for you. That is why we have some tips to help you.

The Height

The right height is important because this will have big impact on the curve of your back while sitting.

  • Too low will make you lean forward to much and loose energy
  • Too high will make you lean backwards and this will cause tension in your back

In general the rule is that the taller you are the higher your bench should be.

The pitch of your seat

The way your seat is pitched or slanted will determine the angle of your pelvis.
Best is to sit as much upright as you can. The rest of your body most of the time follows your pelvis so this is an important thing to think about.

Video I found to help you

I found a video on YouTube that might help you more in finding the right mediation bench for your posture.

I had no idea there are so many types of meditation benches! I’ve actually never seen anyone use meditation benches, but I can see the benefit in them through the pictures you shared. How much would one have to expect to pay for a good handcrafted meditation bench?

      Abel,
Prices vary from brand to brand. More important is to find one that fits your way of meditation the best.
